In May 2011, the Clocktower Gallery - a historic alternative arts space in downtown Manhattan - presented a site-specific installation by Icelandic artist Anna Jóelsdóttir, who creates ethereal sculptures in hand-painted mylar, as well as delicate, miniature pop-up books. The Clocktower hired Brand Bean to design a series of invitations for the opening event, using different photographs of the artwork as a background and color palettes. Brand Bean also photographed the opening event, and produced a high quality selection of images of the exhibition and invited guests. The photographs capture both candid and composed moments featuring artists, critics, and gallery staff and friends, as well as images of the art work which, due to its unique materials, is a great challenge to capture on camera.
